In September my computer's power supply blew (which was somehow caused by me moving it around when I was taking a broken futon out of my room) so I had to get another. It came in that week or the week after and my dad and I put it in my computer. It we could get the cord from the power supply to fit into the slot because it isn't the right size( the thing you plug in was like a 12 or 14 pin and the slot was a 10 pin) , so my dad emailed the customer support people. The next day he got emailed back and they told him you could take some of the pins off (either 2 or 4, I forget which) because they just snapped on. We snapped the pins off and it fit perfectly and the computer powered right up. But for some reason the monitor didn't. I was pretty sure the monitor was burnt out or something. About two weeks later I finally decide to test the monitor by taking it downstairs and trying it on my brother's computer. It worked fine. So now I wasn't sure what was wrong. Earlier on I told my dad that I was pretty sure that the video card was just loose, but he asserted that "its in there good". A week or so later my uncle (who built my computer, not that thats anything to be proud of) comes over and check, finding that the video card was INDEED loose. It now becames even more obvious (and it was very obvious beforehand) that while my father can competently and efficently manage thousands of convicts, he will most likely just make himself look like an idiot when working on a computer.
So, its early/mid october and my computer is working again. Its fine for around a month (well, not fine, just functional) when my power supply once again burns out again, so we get another powersupply. It comes that wensday, we get it in and that friday it blows. We send it in for a return and we get it back the wensday of the week of Thanksgiving. We put it in, and once again the monitor won't work. I try to put the video card in the way my uncle taught me (pull the motherboard up a little and push the video card in) to no avail. So that Sunday my uncle again comes to my house and checks it. Its in there but still isn't working, so his guess is that the video card is now blown, most likely as a result of the powersupply blowing.
I'll (should) be getting a new video card friday, which is great news. Even better news, my parents are saying they're going to get me a new computer for my birthday (which is in January, though I may have to wait until they get their tax return in Febuary).
So, moving on now, I guess I should say if I have anything that I'll probably put up here soon, so I'll do it in list form since thats how all of you do it (though I may later promptly change my mind and say doing it as a list is the girly way)
- Wait, you actually thought I was going to have art to post up!? Yeh, I kind of realise my art is crappy. Thats the main reason why I'm not doing any. But if I do something I might just put up some kind of writing up (I was actually thinking it would be intresting to wait a while and start posting my (possibly exaggerated (Oh noes! parantheseis inside parantheseis!)) rendition of storys I hear around my school, especially those I hear in the anime club I'm in), though if someone would like to collaborate I would love to do the storyline for a comic and someone else do the art
And thats pretty much all I have to say, so I guess this'll be it for now.
